High Alumina Brick
Dense refractory bricks with Al₂O₃ content ranging from 48% to 90%. Engineered for extreme-temperature applications in steel, cement, glass, and ceramic industries — rated to 1750°C at the premium grade.
Available Grades & Specifications
Four alumina grades to match your temperature requirements and budget. All grades are manufactured to GB/T 2988 and equivalent international standards.
Standard High Alumina Brick
The entry-level grade with ≥48% Al₂O₃ content, suitable for general industrial furnaces, rotary kiln transitions, and boiler linings. Offers a balance of performance and economy for moderate-temperature applications up to 1450°C.
- Al₂O₃ ≥ 48%, maximum service temperature 1450°C
- Bulk density ≥ 2.20 g/cm³, cold crushing strength ≥ 50 MPa
- Good thermal shock resistance for cyclic heating applications
- Widely used in cement kiln cooling zones and general industrial boilers
Medium-Grade High Alumina Brick
With ≥65% Al₂O₃ content, this grade delivers enhanced slag resistance and refractoriness under load (RUL). Ideal for cement kiln burning zones, ceramic tunnel kilns, and steel ladle linings operating up to 1580°C.
- Al₂O₃ ≥ 65%, maximum service temperature 1580°C
- Bulk density ≥ 2.45 g/cm³, cold crushing strength ≥ 65 MPa
- Excellent resistance to alkali attack and cement clinker erosion
- Suitable for torpedo ladles, EAF roofs, and ceramic kiln furniture
- Common choice for Gulf region industrial furnaces and petrochemical heaters operating at 1400–1580°C
High-Grade Alumina Brick
The workhorse grade for demanding steel and glass applications. ≥75% Al₂O₃ delivers outstanding RUL above 1500°C, superior slag erosion resistance, and exceptional creep resistance for continuous casting environments up to 1650°C.
- Al₂O₃ ≥ 75%, maximum service temperature 1650°C
- Bulk density ≥ 2.55 g/cm³, cold crushing strength ≥ 75 MPa
- High refractoriness under load (RUL T0.6 > 1500°C)
- For blast furnace stacks, glass furnace crowns, and EAF roofs
Premium Corundum-Grade Alumina Brick
Our highest-grade alumina brick for the most extreme refractory environments. Near-corundum composition (≥90% Al₂O₃) provides exceptional chemical purity, extremely low creep rate, and maximum temperature stability up to 1750°C. Used in petrochemical reformers, high-purity ceramic kilns, and specialty metallurgical applications.
- Al₂O₃ ≥ 90%, maximum service temperature 1750°C
- Bulk density ≥ 2.75 g/cm³, cold crushing strength ≥ 90 MPa
- Near-corundum composition, extremely low high-temperature creep
- Excellent chemical resistance against acid and alkaline slag

Industry Applications
High alumina bricks are deployed across the world's most demanding high-temperature industries.
Frequently Asked Questions
HA-65 has a minimum Al₂O₃ content of 65% and is rated to 1580°C — it provides good slag resistance for cement and ceramic applications. HA-75 steps up to 75% Al₂O₃ and 1650°C with significantly higher refractoriness under load (RUL), making it the preferred choice for steel ladles, blast furnace stacks, and glass furnace crowns where mechanical load at elevated temperatures is a concern.
Yes. Dense high alumina bricks are designed for hot-face lining (direct flame and high-temperature gas contact). Grades HA-75 and HA-90 are particularly suited for direct flame zones in regenerative glass furnaces, rotary kilns, and reheating furnaces. For backup insulation layers, pair with our Insulation Bricks to reduce shell temperature and energy loss.
For high alumina bricks, use a matching-grade alumina mortar (also called high alumina refractory mortar) with equivalent or higher Al₂O₃ content. Apply as a thin-set (1–3 mm joints) using buttering or dipping method. For insulating backup layers, our Insulation Mortar series is appropriate.
