The steel industry is one of the world's most demanding environments for refractory materials. Blast furnaces, electric arc furnaces (EAF), basic oxygen furnaces (BOF), ladles, and tundishes all operate at extreme temperatures — typically between 1500°C and 1650°C — while enduring severe mechanical stress, thermal cycling, and aggressive chemical attack from iron oxides, slag, and molten steel.

Key Application Zones

Blast Furnace

Hearth, tuyere zone, belly, and stack — requires high thermal conductivity at the hearth, alkali resistance in the stack, and extreme durability in tuyere surrounds.

Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)

Hot spots near electrodes and the bath zone experience extreme temperatures and arc radiation — magnesia-carbon bricks are the standard solution.

Ladles & Tundishes

Steel transport vessels require rapid heat-up resistance, slag erosion resistance, and reliable performance during continuous casting sequences.

BOF Converter

Trunnion zone, barrel, and bottom lining all demand high-strength magnesia-carbon bricks capable of withstanding intense mechanical and thermal shock.

High Alumina Bricks

Al₂O₃ content from 48% to 90%+ for blast furnace stacks, torpedo ladles, and reheat furnace crowns. Excellent refractoriness under load (RUL) above 1400°C.
